Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce Holds Annual Breakfast with the Mayor
Chamber will recognize companies for outstanding contributions to the business community
BALTIMORE (August 31, 2016) - The Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting its annual Breakfast with the Mayor on Thursday, Sept. 15 from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. at Horseshoe Casino, 1525 Russell St. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who is not seeking reelection, will address the Chamber in what will be her final Breakfast with the Mayor as Mayor of Baltimore. The Mayor is expected to discuss her efforts to strengthen the City’s support of small businesses, specifically minority and women-owned businesses over the past six years and where she see growth opportunities for small businesses.
The Chamber will also recognize member organizations for their dedication and contributions to the Baltimore City business community. Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Chamber Advocate – providing support to the Baltimore City Chamber
- Business Development Advocate – providing vendor opportunities to Baltimore City businesses
- Educational Advocate – creating educational opportunities for Baltimore City residents
- Community Advocate – serving the community in a distinguished manner
- Employment Development – creating job training and workforce opportunities for Baltimore City residents
“This event is always a highlight for the Chamber, and this year is particularly exciting as it will give the Chamber an opportunity to publically thank Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake for her service to the City of Baltimore and honor some of the Chamber’s members who are doing great things to strengthen the local business community,” said Charlie Owens, president of the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce. “This event is also a fantastic way for businesses of all sizes to connect with each other and key decision makers.”
For the second year in a row, Horseshoe Casino is hosting Breakfast with the Mayor which outgrew its original location at the Rawlings-Blake Clubhouse at Forest Park Golf Course.
